As I work with such special people, I am struck by how subtly they condemn themselves. I notice that they subtract their own sense of value as I listen closely to their personal narratives. Actually, without even being aware of it, they "trash'" themselves, and it's so sad. This is a practice that I AM FIRMLY AGAINST.
Now, I'm not one for the other end of the continuum either. You know, the "I am wonderful and perfect" affirmation approach to self-esteem. I just don't think that we should lie to ourselves, but I AM FIRMLY FOR thinking about ourselves realistically, and "on balance".
It's healthy to know our weaknesses so that we can grow. It's also healthy to celebrate our worth, so that we can have hope. Hope lends a sense of purpose that pulls us positively into time. I believe that if there is a heartbeat in your chest, then you have a special "calling" to fulfill. This is true whether you acknowledge it or not, but I hope that you will.
In fact, if you are reading this story, then you're valuable to me, and I love you for it! You're valuable to my mission, Simple Encouragement, because you are allowing my loving energy to flow into you, through you, and hopefully into those special people around you.
So, thank you friend! By reading and absorbing these words, you are helping me to make a difference in the world today, and believe me, that makes all the difference in the world.
Today I will think of myself "on balance", experiencing my worth, and adding value to others by the love that flows through my being.
